Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts 6 cups chicken broth 1 yellow onion, diced 3 carrots, peeled and sliced 3 stalks celery, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp dried thyme 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper

In a large pot over medium heat, add the chicken, chicken broth, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through.

Add the egg noodles to the pot and simmer for 5-7 minutes until tender.

Return the shredded chicken to the pot along with the parsley. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Remove bay leaf before serving.

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve with homemade bread.
